Among stock sectors, technology fared the best with a 0.4% increase while the basic materials sector lagged behind with a 0.9% loss.

Within the Morningstar Style Box, it was a mixed picture. Large growth stocks fared the best with a 0.5% gain while small value trailed the rest of the style box with a 0.8% decline.

Tesla was the most-actively traded stock as of Friday’s close, gaining 4.2%, to $244.75 per share. Among other actively traded stocks, NIO Inc. was down 0.5%, to $7.75, Carvana Co was down 20.9% to $19.17, and Palantir Technologies was down 1.1% to $15.02.
